Peterborough Singers announce a vibrant new season of music, including a concert of Beatles music: full and mini-series tickets available

Peterborough, October 6, 2009: A vibrant and various array of music is being prepared by the Peterborough Singers for its 2009-10 concert season, including a full concert of Beatles music in February! Seasons tickets are now available, along with a special new “mini-series” ticket which allows concert-goers to choose any two concerts for a special low price.

To launch the season, the Singers are again joined by the Canadian Staff Band of the Salvation Army, for CAROLS WITH BRASS on November 28, 2009. Sing along or sit back and enjoy many seasonal favourites!

The choir reprises its popular presentations of the Handel’s MESSIAH on December 14 & 15, 2009, and once again audience members will be invited to sing “Hallelujah” along with the choir in a rousing encore.

The Singers break new ground this season with a full concert of the year’s most popular retro composers – the Beatles. COME TOGETHER! on February 27, 2010, will feature sing-along favourites like “Yesterday”, “Hey Jude”, “All You Need is Love” and more.

Finally, the choir presents Mendelssohn’s masterpiece oratorio ELIJAH on May 8, 2010.

Special guests joining the choir this year include Sopranos Leslie Fagan, Pam Birrell, and Sandra Tucker; Mezzo-Sopranos Vicki St. Pierre and Jennifer Enns Modolo, Tenor Adam Bishop and Basses Andrew Tees, Giles Tomkins and Paul Massel.

PLEASE NOTE: All concerts take place at George St. United Church at 7:30 pm, with the exception of COME TOGETHER!, which is a 2:00 pm matinee performance at Calvary Church.

Seasons’ tickets for the year are $100 (adult & senior) and $35 (student). Mini-series tickets (any two concerts) are $52. Individual concert tickets are also available for $28 (adult & senior) and $10 (student). Contact the Singers office at singers@peterboroughsingers.com or 705-745-1820.
