Veteran Classical Music Host Lynne Warfel-Holt Returns to Classical 24

(St. Paul, Minn.) January 12, 2009’Äî American Public Media’Ñ¢ today announced that Lynne Warfel-Holt has been named a new host of Classical 24¬Æ, the award-winning, nationally syndicated classical music service dedicated to live classical music programming 24-hours a day, seven days a week. Warfel-Holt returns to a 24-year radio career on Jan. 12, 2009, after a four-year stint as a dog trainer and behavior consultant.

Classical 24 is always live and features hosts who rank among the finest in the country. Classical 24 is topical and relevant, staying on top of world events and playing the best in classical music from a library of 60,000 CDs. Classical 24 hosts create a rewarding and welcoming atmosphere for both experienced and novice listeners to classical music. Before starting her in-home dog training business, Warfel-Holt was a host on both Classical 24, serving as one of the first national hosts, and Minnesota Public Radio®. While at Minnesota Public Radio, she hosted the Minnesota High School Music Listening Contest, Echoes of Christmas with the Dale Warland Singers, and Sommerfest broadcasts. Warfel-Holt was also a guest narrator with The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra and Minnesota Orchestra.

Before coming to Minnesota Public Radio in 1993, Warfel-Holt was at WCAL in Northfield, Minn. She also hosted a daily show at the rock station, Radio Forth in Edinburgh, Scotland in the early 1990s. Her radio career began 24 years ago in Los Angeles at KFAC, a commercial classical music station, and at KUSC. Warfel-Holt received her bachelor’Äôs degree in theater and minored in music (voice) at Northwestern University, finishing her Masters in Theology at Fuller Seminary.
