Toronto ’Äì Singer, songwriter, composer, conductor and pianist Michel Legrand's last name may mean "great," but it is his impressive career which makes him musical "greatness." As part of the GRANDMASTERS Series, presented by Panasonic, international icon, Legrand will perform on Saturday, June 28 at 8pm at the Four Seasons Centre, for the TD Canada Trust Toronto Jazz Festival, running June 20 ’Äì 29.

"Michel's contribution to jazz music, and to pop culture in general, is undeniable and worth recognizing," states the Festival's Executive Producer Patrick Taylor, who put together this year's GRANDMASTERS Series, which also includes legendary jazz pianists Dave Brubeck (July 2), and Oliver Jones & Ahmad Jamal (June 23) in a special double bill concert.

With a career that spans over five decades, Legrand's influence is far-reaching. Inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1990, Legrand boasts three Academy Awards, five Grammys, more than 250 film and television scores and a number of jazz, classical and pop albums.
