— First Prize of $250: Sarah Silvermyn (student at the Royal Conservatory of Music),

published in the September 2000 issue of La Scena Musicale.

— Second Prize: Betty Nygaard King, American symphonic jazz: In what ways did the movement convey an "American "sound closely identified with American culture?, published in the February 2001 issue of La Scena Musicale.

A French or English jury, composed of specialists of music and literature, has evaluated the articles and decided on the winners.

Congratulations to the winners and many thanks to all the students who entered the contest!
