Choral Love Songs by Palestrina, Gabrieli, Copland and Gershwin

Concept:

Montreal's choral community is expressing their support for the classical music magazine La Scena Musicale and its founder Wah Keung Chan by collaborating in a benefit concert supporting the publication. The event, scheduled for 8 p.m. on February 14, 2009, features three of Montreal's top choirs: Concerto Della Donna, Musica Orbium, and the Studio de Musique ancienne de Montrˆ©al, conducted by stalwarts of the Montreal choral scene Iwan Edwards, Patrick Wedd and Christopher Jackson, respectively. The ensembles will perform choral love songs from Gabrieli and Palestrina to Copland and Gershwin, with each choir singing their own segment and then joining forces for the finale.
