The National Youth Choir of Canada, created in 1984 and made up of four singers aged 18 to 25 from each of Canada’s provinces, will perform under the direction of Ivars Taurins, founding director of the Tafelmusik Chamber Choir, at the Grande Fête Chorale de La Prairie on May 16 at 7:30 p.m. at the Church of the Nativity. The concert, which will also feature the Youth Choir of Quebec, is organized to benefit the Liette Turner Foundation dedicated to the advancement of choral music, and will present choral works by Brahms, Vivier, Poulenc, Fauré, Janequin, and Vigneault, among others.
