One of the newest and hottest celebrities
in Montrealís music scene is undoubtedly the Montreal Symphony Orchestraís
new artistic director Kent Nagano, who officially took the helm last
September. Fans and critics alike are fascinated by the multi-faceted
man. La Scena Musicale has been keeping track of Nagano these
past two years and in our in-depth interview, we give you some insight
into what makes the maestro tick. Itís a ďmustĒ read in this issue!
In addition, we recognize the 40th anniversary
of the SMCQ, the first Canadian institution dedicated to advancing the
cause of contemporary music.
December is also the time for holiday
festivities with family and friends. So much to do, so little time!
