Music China attracts more than 1,100 exhibitors and many new products will be launched at the show

More than 1,100 exhibitors from 24 countries and regions will take part in this year’Äôs Music China show to be held 13 ’Äì 16 October 2009 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, China. Music China is the most important musical instrument show to take place in the Asia Pacific region as it brings together hundreds of music product suppliers from around the world.

Exhibitors at this year’Äôs show will include nine international pavilions from the Czech Republic, France, German, Italy, the Netherlands, Scandinavia (Denmark, Iceland, Finland, Norway and Sweden), Spain, the UK and Taiwan.

Music China will be the launching pad into the Chinese market for many new products that include drum kits, keyboard, pianos and electrical guitar and accessories.
’Ä¢ Roland is introducing the TD series electric drum kit with an improved sound quality and MIDI output for sequencing or triggering other sounds, making it ideal for practicing or studio use.
’Ä¢ Steinway & Sons will be presenting two new additions to their Crown Jewel series. The Sapphire and Aquamarine pianos are crafted in rosewood and birch.
’Ä¢ Korg is offering the nanoSERIES of USB-powered, slim-line controllers in three new versions. The nanoKEY features a 25-key velocity-sensitive keyboard and is ideal for song production; the nanoPAD has 12 highly responsive trigger pads, each capable of sending up to eight notes simultaneously, and nanoKONTROL offers nine faders, nine knobs, 18 switches, plus a full transport section for expansive control.
’Ä¢ The new guitar amplifier from Line6 Spider¬Æ IV redefines what is sonically possible from modelling amplifiers. More than 50 of today’Äôs hottest guitarists and bands have handcrafted more than 300 presets for Spider IV.
’Ä¢ Taylor is introducing a new loaded pick guard for the SolidBody Classic guitar which changes its tonal characteristics and appearance.

Top international and local artists line-up to play non-stop

Famous and legendary artists from China, Denmark, Japan and the USA will entertain show visitors at both indoor and outdoor venues. Hit-makers Michael Pagaard from T-Rex Engineering, Tonni Jensen of Danish Dynamite and TM Stevens will be playing at the Warwick booth and Japanese artists Eric Miyashiro (trumpet player), Hiroyuki Noritake (drummer) and Yasuya Tomioka (Electone player) will be at the Yamaha booth. Other performing artists include bass guitarist Jonas Hellborg from Sweden and Steve McNally will be appearing for Korg.

The line up from China includes Beauty Lv (Line 6), Zhang Dawei (Clavia Nord) ’Äì the forerunner of Chinese electronic music, and Xiao Wei (Numark) ’Äì a renowned DJ in China known as ’ÄúDJ DRAGON-V’Äù and Eric Chin (VOX).

Daily fringe programme expected to draw large attendance

A diverse range of fringe programme events has been designed to appeal to the different Chinese and international music industry sectors. These events include:

’Ä¢ Drum Circle (supported by Remo and KHS): Visitors to the show can find their own sense of rhythm and enjoy the power of the beat by playing a wide variety of drums and percussion instruments.
’Ä¢ NAMM University: The course programmes look at important issues affecting the international music industry and include bilingual panel discussions and seminars for distributors, dealers and retailers.
’Ä¢ Principal Forum and Retailer Forum: Industry leaders will address retailers and conservatory officials from China.
’Ä¢ Chinese Folk Music Events: The line-up offers a Chinese Folk Music Education Development Forum, master classes and performances.
’Ä¢ MIDIFEST: As the popularity of MIDI goes from strength to strength, Music China is organising a MIDI forum, seminar and MIDI Music Competition. Sponsored by Acton, Digidesign, Korg and M-Audio, competition entrants can win more than RMB 50,000 worth of prizes for best performance, best creativity and best skills.
’Ä¢ Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Seminar: Industry experts will discuss how to register IPR as well as the various corporate issues surrounding IPR.
