ESO Music Director's South African Adventure!

ESO Music Director concludes tour with Renˆ©e Fleming

Edmonton, AB ’Ķ Edmonton Symphony Orchestra Music Director William Eddins today concludes his South African tour with Grammy-award winning American soprano and ESO 2008 Gala artist, Renˆ©e Fleming. At the personal request of Ms. Fleming, Bill Eddins had the utmost pleasure of conducting three brilliant, sold-out concerts with the renowned soprano and the KwaZulu-Natal Philharmonic Orchestra. The final concert of the three-city tour takes place at the Cape Town City Hall. Previous concerts were held on August 27th at Durban City Hall, and on August 29th at the State Theatre in Pretoria.

Read all about Bill’Äôs amazing adventure in South Africa (including his experiences with monkeys on his veranda!) at: www.insidethearts.com/sticksanddrones/author/bill-eddins.

Bill will return to Edmonton to lead another international artist on the world opera stage Dmitri Hvorostovsky; an artist Ms. Fleming was thrilled to perform with in the Metropolitan Opera’Äôs Eugene Onegin. She also graciously spoke of Dmitri’Äôs talent and brilliance in a special video: www.youtube.com/edmontonsymphony.

This Siberian baritone will mesmerize audiences with his emotional intensity and technical mastery in the ESO’Äôs Gala Fundraising Concert on Monday, September 28th. Backed by our superb orchestra, this is certainly a concert event not to be missed.

Limited tickets are still available. Tickets can be purchased by calling the Winspear Centre Box Office at 780-428-1414, or online at www.edmontonsymphony.com.
