About La Scena Musicale, Canada's Free Classical Music Magazine

La Scena Musicale is a free monthly magazine published in English and French by La Scène musicale/The Music Scene, a non-profit charity dedicated to the promotion of classical music. Each issue contains a comprehensive calendar of concerts, compact disc reviews, interviews with musicians as well as feature articles on the local, national and international classical music scenes.

The printed version of La Scena Musicale is distributed across Canada with particular emphasis in the Montreal, Quebec City, and Ottawa-Hull regions. Copies are also sent to music schools and record stores across Canada. The electronic version is available world-wide on the internet.

About The Music Scene Magazine

The Music Scene is La Scène musicale/The Music Scene's all English free magazine dedicated to promoting classical music and jazz in Ontario and Western Canada. Each issue contains a comprehensive calendar of concerts, CD, DVD and book reviews, interviews with musicians as well as feature articles on the local, national and international classical music scenes.

In all 42,000 copies are distributed in Ontario (18,000) and Western Canada (5000 copies each in Winnipeg, Edmonton and Calgary 9000 copies in British Columbia). The Music Scene is published four times a year (Fall, Winter, Spring, Summer).

Published by La Scène musicale, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting classical music, La Scena Musicale Online is one of the internet's leading classical music content providers. It contains original content (interviews, articles, reviews), the Canadian Classical Music Calendar, ClassicalMusicNews.org (links to classical music news articles around the world), LSM Newswire (press releases on classical music from around the world) and the Classical Music Webcast Scheduler (searchable database). In its May 2000 special issue on the Net, Le Monde selected La Scena Musicale Online the 2nd Best Classical Music website, awarding it 4 stars out of 4 (only one of two sites to receive such an honour). The French magazine Best of Web (No. 8, July 2001) chose La Scena Musicale Online as one of the 500 best websites in the world. In December 2001, La Scena Musicale Online was selected amongst the best music website by The London Daily Telegraph.

La Scena Musicale est une publication vouée à la promotion des spectacles et concerts de musique classique grâce à un calendrier mensuel et à un contenu éditorial.

Ses lecteurs y trouvent également des entrevues, des profils d'artistes, des critiques de musiciens et de la scène locale, nationale et internationale. Les articles de fond et les éditoriaux sont publiés en français et en anglais, alors que les critiques le sont en anglais ou en français selon la langue de l'auteur.
